Why is the Weiner issue such a big deal to SOME people?

I think the lying and the total lack of judgement coming from a guy who has drawn attention to himself with his antics is why this has legs. The junk shots are an aside at this point. Apparently there will be more to follow if he refuses to step down. People complain about the extremists in the Republican party causing discord, well here is the chance to knock one out on the other side of the aisle. So what will it be?
