Has anyone who points to the Sodom and Gomorrah story as proof that God hates homosexuals actually read it?

It was pretty much everything they were doing. They had turned their backs on God, and everything they purposed to do was acceptable in their own eyes, regardless what God had to say about it. They did not care about morality, and they did not care about doing what was right. You're right - it wasn't ALL about homosexuality. But that certainly was going on (consensually), right along with all of their other inappropriate activities. The Bible - in the New Testament - is clear that homosexuality is in violation of God's plan. And it is that violation, that rebellion, and that doing what is right in our own eyes regardless what God has to say about it, that is the real problem with homosexuality.
